about therapy
There are a number of reasons people choose to come to therapy, these might include:
Bereavement, Chronic stress, burnout, traumatic memories, persistent low mood, anxiety, feeling lost or numb, feeling overwhelmed, difficulties managing conflict, feeling a lack of direction, worries about the future, issue around identity.

HOW I WORK
The therapeutic space is as an opportunity for us to explore your inner world together, and to consider you as whole person, rather than focusing solely on any difficulties, problems or symptoms you may be experiencing. This places the therapeutic relationship at the heart of what we do. It is an opportunity for you to have the space and time to gain greater awareness about your thoughts, feelings and beliefs and what brings meaning into your life.
The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) has a useful introduction to counselling if you are unsure what to expect: https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/what-is-counselling/
I offer a free initial telephone consultation, you can read more about it on my Sessions & Pricing page or you can contact me directly to arrange a call.
whAT TO EXPECT FROM our FIRST SESSION
I offer an initial session for a reduced rate of £45 with no obligation so that we can explore if we think that we can work together.
During our first session, we will go through the counselling contract so that you have an idea of what to expect and some administrative items. Once you are settled we will usually explore what has brought you to counselling

Sarah has been a great support for my mental health over the years. She has helped me develop valuable coping mechanisms and gain a deeper understanding of myself and my patterns. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a compassionate and supportive therapist.
